The idea generates from a Chinese traditional legend, the White Snake, which tells a story of a kindly snake falling in love with a man but being punished by a monk for this forbidden love. The scene presented is the severest fight between the monk and the snake sisters. Right after the fight, the snake is prisoned under the West Lake thus the lovers are separated.
Soft lines are used to express Humility as well as aggressiveness.
